Tampa Bay is a harbor area that receives no snowfall during the winter season. If you are part of the community who feels that snow is the essence of Christmas, then the Winter Village is your go-to place. You can find it at Curtis Hixon Park.
Skate and sip
The village hosts an ice skating rink as its biggest attraction. A price of less than $15 gets you skating gear and onto the ice for an hour and a half. Then, head over to the winter village cafe for a drink and a bite to eat. Holiday delicacies are an important part of the season, and the cafe keeps the wintery feeling going with its snacks and refreshments. There’s also a market in winter village, which holds accessories and other decorative items for sale.
It’s a plan and a half to stroll through the village for its sights, sounds, and activities. The park opens late afternoon on weekdays and in the morning on weekends, from the final week of November to the first week of January.

The multi-platinum progressive rock group has become a holiday phenomenon over the past 20 years. Trans-Siberian Orchestra is now synonymous with Christmas, and if you haven’t seen a show yet, don’t wait another 365 days.

Lighted Boat Parade – ONE DAY ONLY!
The Lighted Boat parade is a one-day Christmas special on Hillsborough River in Tampa Bay. If you’re a local, you know it as “The Downtown Tampa Holiday.” It’s THE traditional annual Christmas event and one that you do not want to miss at any cost!
The feature of the boat parade is its fascinating display of lights. These lights float on the river surface in the form of brightly lit boats. Their reflection in the water makes for a remarkable view.
But it is not only the river that lights up, as residents in the riverside area also contribute to the lighting with their colorful displays. The spirit of Christmas culminates as the parade reaches the over 30 foot high Christmas tree floating in the middle of the river near The Sail Convention Center. Even though it’s a one-day parade, the tree stays put throughout December.
The Lighted Boat Parade is one of the best events to witness the Christmas lights in Florida. Be sure to get there between 6 pm and 8 pm on the 21st of December.

Henry B. Plant Museum and the Victorian Christmas Stroll
The Henry B. Plant Museum is a historical landmark and icon of Tampa Bay. It started in 1891 as Tampa Bay Hotel, a place for tourists to reside while in the area. At the time, it attracted high profile names to its walls. But now, it’s a plant museum under The University of Tampa.
The museum blends the old with the new to give you a peek into Tampa Bay and the contributions of Henry B. Plant. Through December, it takes a Christmassy twist in conjunction with the festival. You can take a Victorian-style tour (aka Victorian Christmas Stroll) of the place to give you the history of Christmas in Tampa Bay. You can also get your hands on some unique and thoughtful Christmas-themed gifts at the museum throughout December.
The Henry B. Plant Museum is an all-in-one place to get a good feel for the holiday. Tickets for the stroll are $16 for adults and $10 for children.

Christmas in the Wild is the annual theme of ZooTampa at Lowry Park. The zoo itself hosts a variety of wildlife, some of which are native to other regions of the world. You’ll get to interact with them while you stroll through the zoo.
The Christmas event at Lowry Park Zoo is as wild as the wildlife itself. It comes to life with an exhibition of lights and fun-filled adventures. The zoo hosts Santa’s Village, where you can interact with the jolly old man himself, as well as his collection of reindeers. There is a glistening of lights and Christmas trees in the village for an extra spark to the place.
ZooTampa at Lowry Park is sure to leave you and your family with unforgettable memories with its Christmas in the Wild. It’s another can’t miss Christmas event in Tampa Bay on Fridays and Saturdays from the final week of November till Christmas. Tickets are $26.95 for adults and children
