A Few Stand Out Stand Ups in Atlanta in May & June

Basketmouth: Unprovoked

Basketmouth is one of the most successful Nigerian comedians in the world. He is known for his clever and witty observations, as well as his ability to make people laugh. His shows are known for their improvisational nature, which often has the audience laughing uncontrollably. He is an incredibly talented performer and is considered to be one of the best stand-up comedians in Africa.

The show is scheduled for June 10th at the Buckhead Theater. It’s an all-ages show and tickets run from $40 – $120.

Affordable Tickets – Role Call Theater and Kat’s Cafe

If you stay on top of the Atlanta comedy world, you’ll undoubtedly find some amazing bargains from time to time. And, the thing is, that you won’t sacrifice the laughs for a budget-friendly evening.

Two great places to check out for affordability are Role Call Theater in Ponce City Market, and Kat’s Café (970 Piedmont Ave.). Role Call, in particular, offers an ever-changing line-up. Kat’s Café is better known for live music, but Tuesday Comedy is a fun change of pace.

The Bigger Names

Most audience members agree that you can experience just as many laughs in a small, intimate setting with an up-and-coming comedian in Atlanta comedy clubs or anywhere around the world (well, with some exceptions, of course). And it’s also a conversation starter to say you saw them before they made it.

But big-ticket comedy in Atlanta is also a hot ticket!

In May and June, a few of the biggest shows include An Evening with Larry the Cable Guy at Atlanta Symphony Hall, Mike Epps at Tabernacle, Margaret Cho at Buckhead Theatre, and Eddie B. – Teachers Only Comedy Tour at Atlanta Symphony Hall. The Punchline also has some recognizable funny people on its late spring schedule.
