Explore The Illuminated 110-Foot-Tall Mile High Tree From Inside Out

Dates: November 30 - January 31

Location: Sculpture Park

This new holiday attraction is one of the most anticipated Christmas events in Denver that is not to be missed. 

When it comes to Denver holiday events, nothing rings Christmas more than a super lit tree. But wait; it can get better with a giant 110-foot tall tree art. 

The enormous tapering construction houses up to 140 people at a time and features light and music shows every 30 minutes with your favorite classic holiday songs. You can also enjoy the recorded performance by the Colorado Symphony in between shows.

The Nutcracker

Location: Ellie Caulkins Opera House, Denver Performing Arts Complex 

Dates: November 30–December 29

The sensational story of mouse king and the nutcracker has become a true holiday classic countrywide, meaning your Christmas festivities are not complete until you see the annual performance of "The Nutcracker," by Colorado Ballet. 

So, get ready to experience the unforgettable characters, classic choreography, dazzling costumes, and Tchaikovsky's remarkable score live by the Colorado Ballet Orchestra. This stunning demonstration of sparkling snowflakes and glittering sugarplums will surely transport you to the Land of Sweets.

Zoo Lights And Enjoy 70 Acres of Light Displays

Dates: November 29 - December 30

Location: Denver Zoo

Lions and tigers, Friday and glistening light displays, oh my! Oh my! 

I am a fan of dazzling lights, but if someone knows how to make it more fun, it’s the Denver Zoo. Each year, the zoo transforms into a magical location where light sculptures come to life right alongside live animals. Children or adults, everyone is sure to enjoy it. So, get ready and explore the zoo in a whole new ‘lights.’

Enjoy German Cuisine At The Christkindl Market

Location: 1515 Arapahoe Street

Date: November 22 - December 23

The German cuisine fair is back as one of the best Denver holiday events. So, get ready to indulge in your favorite German food and refreshments like schnapps and Glühwein while enjoying the live entertainment and getting some holiday shopping done. 

A Christmas Carol: The Musical 

Dates: Through December 22, 2019

Location: Arvada Center for the Arts & Humanities 

Based on Charles Dickens' classic novel, this joyous musical adaptation is one of the most anticipated Christmas events in Denver. 

With the story of money-hoarding skinflint Ebenezer Scrooge’s journey to redemption, A Christmas Carol demonstrates the true meaning of the holiday season in a way that has vibrated for generations.

'DR. SEUSS’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas 

Dates: December 3- 8

Location: Buell Theatre, Denver Performing Arts Complex

Who does not love the holiday loving Whos? Yes, exactly. 

Therefore, Buell Theater is bringing the fantastic tale of Mr. Grinch to life with a vibrant musical featuring our favorite classic songs like “Welcome Christmas” and “You’re A Mean One Mr. Grinch.” 

Kids and adults alike will enjoy this joyous retelling of the beloved Christmas movie.

Winter Fest (Free Horse and Wagon Ride)

Dates: December 6 - December 7

Location: South Pearl Street

Love horses and wagon rides? Then mark the date for taking a trip back in time at Winterfest Colorado that brings back old school holiday traditions. 

After the rides, explore the holiday market, get a photo op with Old World Santa, listen to carolers, and browse stores taking part in the local merchant open house and finally collect your tree from the outdoor lot.

44th Annual Parade of Lights

Location: Downtown Denver

Dates: December 6 - December 7

Illuminated floats, the giant bearded guy himself and marching bands will all be making their way through Downtown for the 44th annual parade.

Annual Fireworks Show To Welcome 2020 With A Bang

Date: December 31st

Location: Downtown Denver

Denver tradition continues with two awesome shows- one for family-friendly viewing at 9 pm and one when the clock strikes midnight.

The event is undoubtedly New Year’s Eve favorite as the fireworks can be viewed from many prime points Downtown. However, get our insider tip and gather along the 16th Street Mall to enjoy the magnificent sight.
