During the pandemic, we got a little out of practice in finding things to do. After all, we were limited to virtual events that we could enjoy in our pajamas.

But now that shows, events, and activities are back in full swing (well, almost), it’s time to find things to do that require pants.

We’ve made it easy, though, as the OTL City Guides have partnered with Evvnt to provide local events calendars that update hourly. You can look through everything or search via categories like performing arts or festivals. There’s everything from concerts, plays, and musicals to classes, workshops, festivals, and more!

Are you promoting an event? If so, go ahead and post it – you’ll get more exposure. You can pay for prominent placement or opt for the free listing. Just look carefully when you start adding your information, as both options are available to everyone.

Free Tickets to Local Events

If you love to attend live shows and events, have you checked out OTL Seat Fillers? It’s a membership club-type of service that provides free pairs of tickets to local shows when venues have some open seats.

It’s nothing like a ticket broker. Seat Fillers must wait for things to pop up. But then they have the fun of attending events without even looking at the ticket price. That’s because seat fillers are always on the comp list!

Other Ways to Find Local Events and Things to Do

In addition to our local event calendars, there are many great ways to find local events near you. One way is to use a search engine and search for terms like “local events near me” or “things to do in my area”. Another way is to check out websites or apps that focus on listing local events. A few examples of these types of websites and apps include Eventbrite, Brown Paper Tickets, and Time Out.

If you’re not sure what to do in your area, you can also check out local tourism websites or visit your city or town’s Facebook page. Often, local officials and residents will post about upcoming events and activities on these pages.

No matter what you decide to do, have fun and enjoy discovering all the great things your area has to offer!
