Some of the Best London Christmas Shows and Pantos!

Being in and around London is great, especially at Christmas time, as there are lots and lots of Christmas related shows and pantomimes. Here we take a look at some of the best that are around in the capital during the 2019 London Christmas period.

Goldilocks and The Three Bears - London Palladium

The classic children’s tale of Goldilocks and The Three Bears hits the London Palladium this festive season.  Featuring a star-studded cast including Matt Baker, Paul O’Grady, Julian Clary, this tale tells the story of Goldilocks who is striving to save the beloved family circus before it’s too late! 

Run – 7th December 2019 – 12th January 2020

Circus 1903 – Royal Festival Hall

Circus 1903 is here, live at the Royal Festival Hall in the Southbank Centre.  This show presents you the opportunity to go back in time to a time where the circus was a mainstay of family entertainment.   Daredevils, acrobats, and life-sized elephants will be seen.  Certainly a show not to be missed!

Disney on Ice – SSE Arena; Wembley Arena; The O2/h3

Is it even Christmas if Disney on Ice isn’t on? Of course it’s not! Taking place at various London locations, Disney on Ice celebrates 100 years of Disney magic right in front of your very eyes. Your favourite characters take to the ice to perform to songs that are known and loved by the whole family, and we promise you won’t want it to end. This is a must-see for all of the family and one of the best London Christmas shows in 2019!

Mary Poppins – Prince Edward Theatre

This timeless classic returns to the Prince Edward Theatre where you can join Mary, Bert and the Banks family for a magical adventure into their world this Christmas.  Songs featured during the performance include a Spoonful of Sugar, and of course, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, and we are sure that you won’t be able to resist joining in with the lyrics! (You're singing in your head right now, aren't you?!)

A Christmas Carol – The Old Vic

You can enjoy a performance of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol in the capital this Christmas period. Following the story of Ebenezer Scrooge who is visited by spirits who attempt to change his negative, miserly ways, the story is brought to life on the stage in front of your very eyes.

If you’ve read the book, or know the story, this is a production well worth seeing – you won’t be disappointed. It doesn't matter what year it is, A Chrismas Carol is one of the best London Christmas Shows.

Nativity! The Musical – The Eventim Apollo

Watch the story unfold as pupils of St Bernadette’s School attempt to put on a dazzling musical version of the Christmas Nativity. Mr Maddens and Mr Poppy are tasked with turning the students into stars, and they really want to outshine a rival school’s production. Can they do it though? You’ll have to go and watch to see how the story unfolds!

Full of sing along songs for all of the family to join in with, including Sparkle and Shine, and One Night One Moment, get your singing voices ready.
Joining the cast this year are none other than father and daughter duo, Danny and Dani Dyer, and Mrs O, Sharon Osbourne herself!
Be quick, don’t miss out. This production isn’t running for long.

The Snowman - The Peackock Theater 

A classic winter / Christmas tale if ever there was one.  Lots of people have either heard or, watched, or had the pleasure of reading The Snowman, and it’s a hit with millions of children and adults the world over.  You can now watch a production in London!

Spark the festive feeling within you by watching this production full of dance, storytelling, and songs from the original film as you witness two friends make a magical adventure to the North Pole.

English National Ballet's Nutcracker - The London Coliseum

 You are whisked away into a magical world where the toys come to life in this annual production of Nutcracker, which is a classic Christmas ballet performance hailed by many over the years.

Featuring more than 100 musicians and dancers, the story of a young girl’s Christmas adventure that begins in snowy Edwardian London is told.

Even if ballet isn’t your usual ‘thing’, this is worth attending.

All of these listed shows / pantomimes are very popular so do sell out quickly.  To avoid disappointment please book sooner rather than later, and do be aware that ticket prices can vary drastically based upon the location of the event, and also the date and time that it is taking place.  Some shows have very limited availability already, so take action now to ensure you get a seat in the auditorium.
