Paramount Theatre

Known as the Seattle Theatre when it first opened in 1928, the Paramount Theatre is one of the best theaters in Seattle. The theater underwent multiple renovations and other changes, including becoming a movie theater and eventually converting it into a live performance space again.

As the first theater in the United States to be equipped with a convertible floor system, the Paramount Theatre can convert from a theater into a ballroom, increasing its capacity from 2,800 to 3,000.

Like the Paramount, the 5th Avenue Theatre is a venue with longevity. In fact, it beat the Paramount by two years, having opened its doors in 1926. As the name implies, the show venue is located on 5th Avenue in the Skinner Building and features seating for 2,130 audience members. It’s home to the 5th Avenue Musical Theatre Company and also hosts original and touring Broadway performances.

Annex Theatre/Stellner Auditorium – We’re putting both on our best theaters in Seattle list. But just to clarify, Annex Theatre is the company, and Stellner Auditorium is the venue. They’re both located in the Capitol Hill Arts District on the corner of 11th and East Pike.

It’s a great place to catch a show in an intimate environment as Stellner Auditorium has just over 100 general admission stadium-style seats. You can buy affordable, sliding scale tickets right from the Annex website.
