Comedy Clubs in Atlanta
…and Upcoming Shows, Too!
Atlanta is a great city for comedy, with national and local comedians taking the stage and dropping the mic. So, if you’re looking for a night of laughs, we’re recommending the best comedy clubs in Atlanta.
The Punchline is one of the most popular spots in the city for headliners. It’s been around since the early 1980s and has featured some of the biggest names in the industry. Laughing Skull Lounge is another great spot, with an intimate setting and a focus on up-and-coming comedians.
Dad’s Garage Theatre is a must-visit for anyone who likes improv comedy. And if you’re looking for something fun and different, check out The Village or any of the other entertaining comedy clubs in Atlanta.

Village Theatre
Where else could you find “Improv Asshole” but Atlanta’s Village Theatre in the Old Fourth Ward?
The audience runs the show every Saturday night by voting after every scene (or improv!). Even though the results determine what happens next, laughs are guaranteed.
Tickets to Improv Asshole are less than $20, and you’ll find some themed events like a Star Wars Edition. Are you not feeling it? Then, head to the Village Theatre on Friday nights when the assholes are resting up for Saturday!
The Punchline Comedy Club
Whereas the Village Theatre specializes in Improv, The Punchline is the premiere comedy club in Atlanta, where prominent headliners have taken the stage for more than 20 years. And, we’re talking about the “big ones” like Jerry Seinfeld, Jeff Foxworthy, Dane Cook, and Richard Pryor!
Even if you don’t recognize the name, give it a go anyway, as you could get a front-row seat to the next big name in comedy. Plus, the best part is that tickets are pretty darn affordable, with many shows in the $20 to $25 range.
The Punchline is located at Roswell and Piedmont at 3652 Roswell Road.
1UP Comedy
Don’t look for a specific venue, as 1UP Comedy is a troupe and not a club. Instead, 1UP takes the stage at different spots throughout the greater Atlanta area, like ASW Whiskey Exchange in Atlanta and 40 Watt Club in Athens.
One of the regulars is Ten Buck Comedy at ASW Whiskey Exchange (1000 White St. SW). The line-up is a secret. However, you won’t be disappointed, as past performers have performed on Comedy Central and The Tonight Show.
Oh, and Ten Buck Comedy is really ten bucks – as long as you get your tickets in advance.
