Mad Cow Theatre

Since October 2012, the Mad Cow Theatre has been located in the heart of the Church Street Market at 54 West Church Street. The facility holds just over 250, with a common lobby, box office, coffee bar, and wine shop shared between two theaters. 

As the larger of the two venues, the Harriett boasts 161 fixed seats and six adjustable seats for guests with disabilities. This venue is used for both the regular season and Orlando Cabaret Festival, as well as business meetings and community events. 

The Zehngebot Stonerock Theatre is an excellent BlackBox theatre with seating for 50 to 65 people. It’s movable seating arrangements allows it to adapt to various productions, including regular season performances and community events.

Lowndes Shakespeare Center

The Lowndes Shakespeare Center is home to Orlando Shakespeare Theater (aka Orlando Shakes). It’s one of the cultural residents of Orlando-Loch Haven Park.

Lowndes’ four theaters range from the 70-seat Santos-Dantin to the more prominent Ken and Trisha Margeson Theater, which holds 324. The Lowndes Shakespeare Center is also in good company, counting the Orlando Museum of Art, Orlando Science Center, and Orlando Repertory Theatre amongst its neighbors.

Winter Park Playhouse

OK, it’s not technically Orlando. But we’ll leave technical for the crew and express creativity by including the Winter Park Playhouse on our list of favorite Orlando Florida theaters, as it deserves the recognition! The Winter Park Playhouse is Central Florida’s Only Professional Musical Theatre, founded in 2002.

The Playhouse produces year-round professional musicals with amazing entertainers on stage in front of intimate audiences. And, the 123-seat space engages your senses from every angle!
