There’s the annual Dragon Con Sci-fi and Fantasy convention, which takes over downtown Atlanta with masses of costumed fans in early September.
The Decatur Book Festival is October 1, 2022. It’s one of the largest literary events in the country, with readings, signings, and panel discussions from hundreds of authors.
Music and Food Festivals
Atlanta also hosts several major music festivals each year. One of the biggest is the Music Midtown Festival scheduled for September 17-18 rounds out the major music fests, featuring headliners like My Chemical Romance, Jack White, and Fall Out Boy.

Atlanta also has its share of food and wine festivals. The Atlanta Wine and Food Festival is a three-day event from September 15th to 18th featuring tastings from some of the city’s best restaurants, as well as seminars from acclaimed chefs and sommeliers. Presale tickets are available starting in June.
