ICHI Sushi

ICHI Sushi is the first choice for sushi lovers:

  • Fish is fresh and from a sustainable source
  • The atmosphere is laid back
  • Excellent service

Ask for the bar when booking, and hopefully, you’ll be one of the lucky nine to sit with the chef.

You can choose individual dishes that are reasonably priced. However, omakase is always top-notch if you are adventurous and OK with spending a bit more.

Ju-Ni

Talk about an intimate experience. Every four guests at Ju-Ni have a dedicated chef. Those culinary specialists create and guide excited diners through each of the 18 courses.

Did you catch that? We said, “18 courses!”

The $165 menu changes seasonally, and the fish supply is from Toyosu Market in Tokyo. There are two seatings nightly, and they tend to sell out a month or two in advance. So, don’t hesitate to put your reservation on the calendar-you can even put a tattoo on the back of your hand.

Robin

We think you’ll agree that Robin serves some of the best sushi in San Francisco. Plus, its décor is almost as incredible as its cuisine.

For a luxurious sushi experience, you should go for it. Seafood and unique ingredients come from Northern California. And, even the Wasabi comes from Half Moon Bay. It’s one of the best Wasabi farms in North America.

Pabu Izakaya San Francisco, Pabu San Fran, San Francisco sushi Pabu

Omakase

This Michelin-starred 14-seater omakase restaurant is known for its tall Edomae-style sushi.

Like Ju-Ni, Omakase doesn’t set a menu. Instead, choose from a chef’s choice menu for $150 or $200. The latter comes with other sushi and rice balls.

You might want to consider that these fish are personally selected by experts. That’s because they’re imported directly from Tokyo’s world-famous Tsukiji fish market three times a week.

Address: 665 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA

Average Price: $120 – $150

PABU Izakaya

You’ll find that PABU Izakaya always offers top-notch sushi and high-quality sashimi in San Francisco. And, if anyone in your party shies away from seafood, the menu also includes skewers and steaks.

Not to be outdone by Omakase or Ju-Ni, PABU also has an omakase tasting menu and affordable, high-quality cocktails. For example, if you appreciate good Japanese whiskey, you’re in for a special treat!

Depending on your selections, you might find that PABU Izakaya is more affordable than some of San Francisco’s most upscale sushi restaurants. However, everything you order at PABU is equally delicious.

Average Price: $20 – $150
