The Nutcracker

A true Holiday classic that is not to be missed!

The sensational ballet is one of San Francisco’s favorite Christmas events since the 1944 American premier of the holiday classic. The story of this enchanting Holiday classic, originally written by E.T.A. Hoffmann with the beautiful score by composer Peter Tchaikovsky and choreographer Helgi Tomasson is the perfect way to welcome Christmas with the whole family.

Dates: December 11th through 29th

A Christmas Carol

One of the most anticipated Christmas Events in San Francisco each year is the performance of A Christmas Carol by the American Conservatory Theater. This classic show is the story of Ebenezer Scrooge that captures the lively spirit of Christmas like no other.

Dates: November 29th through December 24th

Venue:  A.C.T's Geary Theater

The Golden Girls Live! The Christmas Episodes

Are you looking for some wild fun? Then trade the traditional holiday shows for a classic Christmas parody this year. Join the "Golden Girls" drag queens Heklina, D'Arcy Drollinger, Mathew Martin, and Holotta Tymes for a mirthful live take on two Christmas episodes from days gone by that are full of joy, love and all the holiday feels.

Dates: November 29th through December 22nd

Venue: Victoria Theatre

Winter Park at Civic Center

O yeah, the Civic Center's Winter Park is back for its fantastic second season, proving that holiday events in San Francisco don't need to be confined to indoor spaces.

A 400-square-foot track and a 6,000 square-foot rink among the plaza’s trees are the focus of this winter wonderland modeled after the Wiener Eistraum in Vienna Austria. You can enjoy general admission for a 75-min skating session from $13–$18, which also includes skate rental.

Moreover, the special events like Sunday morning curling lessons ($20) and Drag Queens on Ice will take place throughout the month.

Holiday Heroes - One Day Only AND for a Good Cause!

Join in the season’s ultimate party benefiting underserved children throughout the Bay Area at Oracle Park holiday wonderland for families and children, home of the San Francisco Giants.

Activities include photos with current and former players, teen hangout, silent auction, holiday arts & crafts, access to the batting tunnels and dugouts, cookie decorating, kids run the bases, S’mores on the field and many more.

Gingerbread House at the Fairmont

What can ring in the holidays better than visiting the Fairmont’s huge gingerbread house? If you have not visited yet, it’s about time that you experience the fantastic edible two-story Victorian house with more than 6,000 gingerbread blocks and 1,650 pounds of candy standing more than 25 feet high created by the hotel’s talented culinary and engineering teams.

You can also reserve the dining room for a private, super-sweet afternoon tea party ($89–$129), dinner, or special occasion, but only if party members are below 10.

Watch Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the whole Peanuts gang take over Davies Symphony Hall this Christmas with a live-action take on the classic favorite “A Charlie Brown Christmas.”

The performers and the musicians of the SF Symphony will bring this beloved family classic to life in front of an animated backdrop. Don't wait until curtain time. Get there early if you wish to be part of a holiday-themed reception, which will include fun Christmas activities and festive Peanuts decor.

Merry-Achi Christmas - One Night Only!

Jose Hernandez and his unmatched Mariachi Sol de Mexico alongside the nation's first all-female group Mariachi Reyna de Los Angeles and the talents of DazArts Sabour Mexico Dance Company performs at Davies Symphony Hall for a unique, musical Christmas tribute.

This multi-cultural celebration is a festive fiesta like no other featuring holiday favorites from the best in Mexican and American holiday traditions in a bright, bold concert the whole family will love.
