Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens
An exquisite combination of indoor and outdoor experiences, the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens are a must-see for anyone in Florida, tourist or not!
Take a stroll through one of the six distinct gardens (16 acres) before heading inside to check out the museum, which boasts an expansive collection of pieces from artists across eras. Afterward, you can get food at the Cornell Cafe overlooking the gardens. The Cafe is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.

Members of the Morikami Museum get free admission. But if you’re not a member, you can purchase tickets: Adults $15, Seniors (65+) $13, Children (6-17) $9, Children (5 or under) free. There are also discounts for students and military with ID.
Miami Children’s Museum
You won’t want to miss the Miami Children’s Museum if you have kids. The museum encourages its visitors to “play, learn, imagine and create together.” Exhibits like the Castle of Dreams let children explore a fairytale-like castle, while the construction zone allows kids to build and imagine!
Tickets must be purchased online in advance of your visit. Admission is for two-hour chunks between 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., or 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The museum is thoroughly cleaned between each ticket time so that kids and families can play worry free!
Admission is $22, whether you’re a kid or a kid at heart. However, Florida residents can purchase tickets for just $15 (don’t forget to bring your ID!). Museum members and babies under the age of one can visit for free.
Truman Little White House
Have you visited Florida’s only presidential museum, Harry S. Truman Little White House, yet?
It was initially a command headquarters during the Spanish American War, World War I, and World War II. But this house eventually served as the Winter White House of President Harry S. Truman. Now you can take a guided tour of the former President’s former home.
Tickets for adults are $24.67, and children (4-12) are $10.75. There’s a modest discount if you purchase your tickets online. Plus other specials for military, veterans, and locals. The Truman Little White House museum is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Philip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science

This museum has just about everything you could hope for, including live shows, an aquarium, a planetarium, etc.
Guests can broaden their horizons by learning about biology, lasers, the solar system, and that’s just the start. Frost Museum’s mission is to “inspire and connect people of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy science and technology and better understand ourselves and our world.”
Frost Museum Admission and Hours
The museum is open daily (10 a.m. to 7 p.m.) and recommends that you buy your tickets ahead of time. Members and children three and under get in free. But for those without a membership, adult tickets come in at $29.95, and youth (4-11) is $24.95.
