Boston Calling Music Festival
The Boston Calling Music Festival is one of the most popular music festivals in Boston. It takes place over Memorial Day weekend at the Harvard Athletic Complex. Boston Calling is a biggie for locals, but it also attracts visitors from all over the US with an impressive line-up.
This festival has something for everyone, with a mix of rock, pop, hip hop, and electronic music. Nine Inch Nails and Metallica headline the 2022 event. Other notables include Avril Lavigne, Cheap Trick, Weezer, Paper Tigers, and Paris Jackson.

Levitate Music & Arts Festival
Marshfield Fairgrounds is home to the Levitate Music and Arts Festival – a three-day annual celebration. Food trucks and more than 100 local artisans are enough to keep you busy, but the music line-up is also impressive.
Jack Johnson headlines this 2022 Boston music festival with other artists including Stephen Marley, Vulfpeck, Phil Lesh and Friends, Dirty Heads, Stick Figure, Umphrey’s McGee, and Old Crow Medicine Show. Three-day passes are available while they last.
Boston Harborfest
We’re highlighting more than just music festivals in Boston, so want to include another annual event that should be on your calendar – although it has music, too.
Boston Harborfest is a family-friendly Fourth of July celebration with four days of non-stop activities. You can catch the Classic Car Showcase and Independence Pooch Parade. There are fireworks, puppet shows, lunch and dinner cruises, an ice cream social, downtown doo-wop, chowder fest, and that’s just a taste of Harborfest.
Oh, and we almost forgot – the Boston Pops and Fireworks show on the 4th!
