One-Stop Shopping in London

It’s particularly handy on Black Friday!

London Black Friday, London shopping, London crowdsThe words one-stop shopping are particularly important at the end of each calendar year as our to-do list is longer and time is limited.

It’s now coming up to that time of year again – the time of year where retailers are getting ready to market their goods to you at reduced prices. In other words, we are coming up to the now well-known days of Black Friday and Cyber Monday!

Black Friday-Cyber Monday difference

Black Friday is the best day to buy newer, big-ticket items. But it’s also quite possibly the better of the two days to actually physically shop in-store whereas Cyber Monday is a better day to shop for smaller gifts and more techy-type deals.

If you’re a Londoner, we’re not revealing anything new to you here. But we’ve all become so accustomed so sitting at our computers and clicking buttons instead of perusing the merchandise in person. That’s why we’ve decided to put the spotlight on the three big centres in London that give you one-stop shopping opportunities, as well as an oldie, but goodie in the virtual retail world.

Make a day (and a game) of it

Maybe this year, you’ll revisit the Black Friday madness and make a day of it. Grab your family and friends, divide and conquer, and then meet in the middle for a well-deserved meal. You could even make a game of it and award the one who found the best deal!

So, with these two significant days coming up, just where should you be going for your shopping? Read on to find out more…..

Westfield London – the biggest!

Opening in 2008, the Westfield London shopping centre became the largest covered shopping development in the capital, and it doesn’t disappoint. That’s even more so since March 2018, where an extension was completed making it the largest centre in the UK and Europe.

The anchors

The centre has six core tenants – John Lewis, Marks & Spencer, Debenhams, House of Fraser, Next, and Primark. But they are flanked by numerous other brands across three floors. On top of this, there are plenty of eateries situated inside the centre to help you refuel on your busy day of shopping. So, you’ve got a one-stop-shop and a refueling station.

Santa’s Snowflake Grotto

As a bonus for the kids, Santa’s Snowflake Grotto opens on 21 November and runs through the 24th of December.

Your little ones can meet and have their photo taken with Santa inside the Elf cottage. They’ll also make their own personalised Christmas decoration.

The experience takes about 25 minutes and you make advance reservations, which are actually recommended.

London Designer Outlet

Situated right next to the world-renowned Wembley Stadium, the London Designer Outlet is one of London’s most original, favourite and most accessible outlet destinations.

A 70% off deal isn’t uncommon

The LDO offers an unchallenged selection of outlet stores that offer savings of up to 70% off RRP on a whole host of products in a range of very well known brand stores, including Nike, Adidas, Next, Ernest Jones, Superdry, and Kurt Geiger.

I mean with up to 70% off RRP anyway, plus additional savings on the day, why wouldn’t you tackle the crowds? After all, there are plenty of retails in the outlet to make it a great (and discounted) one-stop-shop.

Westfield – Stratford City

Stratford City is yet another Westfield shopping centre, this time in the East End of London.

Not quite the largest, but close

Similar to the one in Shepherd’s Bush, it is massive, although just a bit smaller. You won’t notice, though, as it’s full of stores that you can spend all day looking around, fulfilling the one-stop-shop requirement.

There is something for everyone here, so no matter what it is you’re looking for, it would be surprising to find out you couldn’t get it here one way or another.

Shop and sightsee

Situated on the site of the London 2012 Olympics, it provides a great shopping experience with an opportunity to do a little bit of sightseeing too to break up your day.

Santa’s Snowflake Grotto

Santa’s Snowflake Grotto is also set up at Westfield Stratford City. For reservations for this location, you can use this link.

Amazon.co.uk

Amazon inevitably makes it on to this list. You can seemingly get anything you like on this platform, and most of it delivered to you quickly within 24 hours if you’re an Amazon Prime Member.

Amazon Prime Now

In London, you are also able to utilise something called Amazon Prime Now, which is a service offered by the platform where you are guaranteed some of your items within two hours of ordering them. So, you could order something like an Amazon Fire Stick for £39.99 and have it the same day.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are notoriously busy days, and sometimes as we have seen in the past, tensions get a bit frayed in stores, so this is an amazing alternative to going out to the shops, and you can even do it sitting in with a cup of tea.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.0.6″][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.0.6″][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.0.6″]

Prime preview days

Possibly the most stress-free way of shopping across these two days, it is worth keeping an eye on the site as they tend to offer lots of goods at discounted rates for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. They preview them a lot sooner than on the day, and this is where you can get the best deals.

On Black Friday and Cyber Monday themselves, the platform has deals of the hour, every hour, and you can grab yourself some real bargains, but be warned you need to be quick as once they’ve gone, they’ve gone, and that’s it.

Being able to order whatever you want at the touch of a button in a minimal amount of time sounds like shopping heaven. So, if it sounds good to you too, make sure you get logged on to www.amazon.co.uk!

One-stop Shopping

There are lots of other smaller shopping centres in London and the surrounding areas that you could utilise on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. But for one-stop shops, the ones we have looked at here are the biggest and best ones. They will give you the best chance of being able to find what you want all in one place, which on days like these is very important as it is going to be very busy everywhere with people looking for the best deals across the capital.

The last thing you will want to be doing is moving from shopping centre to shopping centre in heavy traffic and public football, so we hope this little guide helps you.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_4″ _builder_version=”4.0.6″][et_pb_code _builder_version=”4.0.6″][/et_pb_code][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.0.6″][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.0.6″][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.0.6″]

Entire week instead of day

One final tip for you all is to keep track of your favourite online retailers and brands, as they now tend to make Black Friday more of a Black Friday Week. Deals are offered over an extended period to entice more people to spend with the retailers. Sometimes some of the best deals go unnoticed because of this.

Enjoy Black Friday and Cyber Monday by being a smart, savvy shopper and using the information provided – we promise it will be worth following!

Two final tips: Be sure to bookmark the OTL City Guides for Locals Gift Guide section. We’re striving to add new information weekly (if not daily) leading up to the big day in 2019. We also have instantly issued London Seat Filler Gift Memberships that range from just £11.99 to £54 and give your loved one(s) pairs of free events tickets for months!
